Debora Moretti

Debora Moretti was part of the team 2015-2018. She is now a research assistant at the University of Bochum in Germany, where she supports scientists in their journey to become entrepreneurs. With an interdisciplinary background and a Master’s degree in biochemistry, as well as a Ph.D. in Innovation Management from the School of Chemistry at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, Debora’s work revolves around bridging the gap between academia and industry, particularly in the realm of bioeconomy and sustainability. Her current role involves enhancing the relationship between academia and industry and fostering the creation of science-based startups. In addition to her work at the University of Bochum, Debora has held various positions in the startup ecosystem, including co-founding NutriSen, where she contributed to business development, team building, and culture creation.

She also served as the Business Manager at LiveSen, and prior to that, she co-founded and worked as the CMO at iBench, a science-focused startup that launched the online marketplace iBench Market. Her research interests encompass topics such as user engagement in product development, the role of farmers as entrepreneurs in technology adoption, entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems, sustainability transition, and the digitalization of laboratories. Debora’s diverse skill set includes creative thinking, leadership, networking, business development, and effective communication.
